owlkeymeNot sure about these 1-9 Thursdays, really whacks out the whole day...
anyway, key points, thoughts, issues:
-after visiting a few places today with Keith doing research on Sound Guy equipment, I've come to the conclusion that the "DJ" business is infested with balding, ponytailed men who prefer to play "who's got the bigger cock ring", rather than pay attention to reality. Keith knows how to make anyone or anything sound good with the bare shit minimum of a system. Let's see them bastards do that without all their fancy thousand dollar cock rings. Yeah, that's what I thought. :P
-Tomorrow night is supposed to be the closing reception for the Winter Arts show at Faith. But I won't be there. Instead, I have a set of people who have been rescheduling appointments on me for a month scheduled at the very end of my shift tomorrow (meaning, if they cancel AGAIN, I will shit a brick and to say to hell with reading right then and there for now...seriously). That means I probably won't get out of there until 6:30...which means I wouldn't make it to SF before 8pm if I'm lucky, and it's over at 9pm. That's just not worth the trek and hassel. So instead, I'll be dancing at Paloma's thingie at Jungle Digital Image in one of the later sets. Info on that: Jungle Digital Imaging , 542 High Street , Palo Alto, CA 650-326-7622 -I'm expecting a main stream crowd, so I'll probably do something more in that realm. No idea on costuming. Had a vision for something, but unless I have zero clients from 12-4pm, that ain't happening. Anyway, at the Jungle thingie, there's about 8 dancers, who will perform between sets of the 4-5 live bands that will be playing.
-last night, I found the trim I've been needing for my Rakkasah costume and ordered it. Got an email today to confirm the order, and it turns out it wouldn't be getting here for another 3 weeks. So that sucks, and back to the drawing board. 8-10 days I can manage, but 3 weeks means it ain't getting here in time.
-Shukriya called and bestowed upon us a vending space for Rakkasah. Not exactly where we would have wanted to be, but it's not in the hallway of doom either. So this is good.
-people who are owned by _mischief 's live longer, healthier lives?
