Ok! Well, Friday was a blast! It was like a LJ bellydancer gathering! Performances by [livejournal.com profile] jezebeltw, [livejournal.com profile] desertroses, [livejournal.com profile] aelfscience...(am I missing anyone, besides me?) I didn't get pix of everyone because I was running around doing stuff, but I got some pix up here: http://www.meddevi.com/dance/bean.html Paloma supposedly has more pix on disc for me, so I'll probably put them all up on her site when I get that finished in the next week. In short, the evening kicked arse! 18 dancers were scheduled, 13 acts showed up, and it was JUST right...and then we had live drumming and FIRE outside afterwards! Keith was the MC and DJ of the evening, and did a most excellent job! (A note to all dancers! Please make sure that your CD is clean before you give it to the music man! Be clear about the track numbers, and if there's longer than a 3-5 second pause between songs that you want played, write it down! Then we all happy :) ). It was a real pleasure meeting [livejournal.com profile] desertroses, who is just a lucious, loveable gal :) I smell trouble in the future hehe! And I loved [livejournal.com profile] jezebeltw 's music---and I still say TO HELL with closeminded people, your music rocked, and the more comfortable you get with performing in front of ppls, the better it will get. Remember to experience joy from the inside out! I found the whole evening beautifully ironic, considering that some of the hard-core "traditionalists" had just been bitching about gothic-fusion, etc, and we had several lovely examples of it ;) I half expected to see something about it in my inbox ;) Anyway, it was a great night, and a lot of excellent networking went down in the wee hours ;)

Saturday...we ventured briefly down to Half Moon Bay, where I got some new yarn from Fengari...MMMmmmm....blue yarn...otherwise, I don't remember too much of it....except we made an excellent and tasty chicken dinner and watched Big Trouble in Little China on the big screen...sorry guys, we couldn't wait forever...maybe we can schedule a gathering in the future...

Sunday...we went much earlier to the Oakland Oak Street area flea market, which confirmed its coolness. I got two silver stamped sequined bras, buttons, and some broken necklaces that all have great costume potential.

Monday, I've been working on lagging projects all day....now back to more of that...

thank you

your opinion means a lot to me.

Keith did an excellent job! It was fun to work with a technical genius.

Oh, and don't get me started on the experimental belly dance music - I've been planning a performance to The Best of the Doobie Brothers. just you wait - har har....

:)
