ah, the weekend...
Mar. 7th, 2004 09:37 pmThe last week is pretty much fused together into some sort of horrific blend...I can't pinpoint when it began, but I know Thursday was crazy, and I worked late at the frame shop (until 9pm), then Friday was bonkers (7 readings, 6 hours, you do the math), and a motley crew headed over to Straw Hat Pizza to support da locals, including
jezebeltw who smiled :) (smiling GOOD! for happy dancing anyway....I prefer a smirk myself, but I do more along the lines of, I'll have you for dinner, and then there will be happy dancing..) Got home, and packed to go to Folsom the next day.
Got up at some gawdawful hour Saturday morning, so nearly the same motley crew could descend upon the de Anza flea market (an honest to goodness real flea market!)...there were purchases (can't remember what)---what I remember most about that morning is the sunburn. Keith has lines across his face, and I look almost natural (err, "healthy pink"), and I have a red area on my neck...(will match my overalls just great!). Then we dropped off the crew and headed northwards to the land of the mum-in-law. She made us a yummy roast beef dinner (though Keith cooks it MUCH better---we still appreciated it, and the meat was deliciosio)...and then I hopped into the Spice costume and we headed up to Placerville for a little performance thing at the Cosmic Cafe, that was in conjunction with some workshops (Elizabeth Strong and Tobias R.)---I had inquired if anything was happening that weekend (b/c there's NOTHING to do up there), and got an invite to dance in return :) So I did my little schpeel, which seemed well-received, though I didn't feel totally up to par. Of course, the Turkish rug burns put a whole new perspective on things, so it's hard to feel good when your finish had a burning end. ;P Somebody or bodies were flashing (taking) a hella lot pix, so maybe I'll be able to get some :)
And today was quite productive, finishing a project for the Mum, picking up equipment for Sound Guy, picking artwork from gallery, dinner at All You Knead on Haight...and fishnetty thingies :)
And the MOON was HUGE as we were driving home. And Led Zepp was playing on the radio...almost felt like I was in some surreal car commercial.
Oh...and talking to my mom as we crossed the Golden Gate, she said the last time she thinks she was in SF was about 34 years ago when she was 5 months preggers with my oldest brother Steve (the one I don't mention, yeah). I said, well, maybe you drank the water, and that explains it? Without missing a beat she says, nope, it was the Scotch.....your father was at a convention, and there were free minibars in the hotel rooms back then.
I love my mom :)
We won't ask what she was drinking when I came along ;) I just prefer to blame the whole teeth thing on her love affair for Bobby Clarke.
