The last week is pretty much fused together into some sort of horrific blend...I can't pinpoint when it began, but I know Thursday was crazy, and I worked late at the frame shop (until 9pm), then Friday was bonkers (7 readings, 6 hours, you do the math), and a motley crew headed over to Straw Hat Pizza to support da locals, including [livejournal.com profile] jezebeltw who smiled :) (smiling GOOD! for happy dancing anyway....I prefer a smirk myself, but I do more along the lines of, I'll have you for dinner, and then there will be happy dancing..) Got home, and packed to go to Folsom the next day.

Got up at some gawdawful hour Saturday morning, so nearly the same motley crew could descend upon the de Anza flea market (an honest to goodness real flea market!)...there were purchases (can't remember what)---what I remember most about that morning is the sunburn. Keith has lines across his face, and I look almost natural (err, "healthy pink"), and I have a red area on my neck...(will match my overalls just great!). Then we dropped off the crew and headed northwards to the land of the mum-in-law. She made us a yummy roast beef dinner (though Keith cooks it MUCH better---we still appreciated it, and the meat was deliciosio)...and then I hopped into the Spice costume and we headed up to Placerville for a little performance thing at the Cosmic Cafe, that was in conjunction with some workshops (Elizabeth Strong and Tobias R.)---I had inquired if anything was happening that weekend (b/c there's NOTHING to do up there), and got an invite to dance in return :) So I did my little schpeel, which seemed well-received, though I didn't feel totally up to par. Of course, the Turkish rug burns put a whole new perspective on things, so it's hard to feel good when your finish had a burning end. ;P Somebody or bodies were flashing (taking) a hella lot pix, so maybe I'll be able to get some :)

And today was quite productive, finishing a project for the Mum, picking up equipment for Sound Guy, picking artwork from gallery, dinner at All You Knead on Haight...and fishnetty thingies :)

And the MOON was HUGE as we were driving home. And Led Zepp was playing on the radio...almost felt like I was in some surreal car commercial.

Oh...and talking to my mom as we crossed the Golden Gate, she said the last time she thinks she was in SF was about 34 years ago when she was 5 months preggers with my oldest brother Steve (the one I don't mention, yeah). I said, well, maybe you drank the water, and that explains it? Without missing a beat she says, nope, it was the Scotch.....your father was at a convention, and there were free minibars in the hotel rooms back then.

I love my mom :)

We won't ask what she was drinking when I came along ;) I just prefer to blame the whole teeth thing on her love affair for Bobby Clarke.

oh and..

I tried out my new hair from [livejournal.com profile] saralicious on Friday...man, that's some seriously big hair! Sorry, no pix, that's top secret. ;)

There will be plenty of pix after Rakkasah anyway.

But damn, that's some big hair :) And you know what I say about big hair! Well, you should.

And the funniest thing is that I'm going to make it even bigger by adding into the mix some colored highlights to match the costume. I'm going to be taking out the first aisle when I do the Zar probably. ;)

I can see it now on gildedserpent.com "a whole row of audience members was injured during a performance at Rakkasah this past weekend...it seems they suffered extreme whiplash from a copious amount of swinging fakehair..."

Dennis (the non-Scotch'd child...we're pretty sure that all of Denny's issues stem from his chaotic younger days, though perhaps mom was on a coffee kick when he was in utero..)....he always calls me up like a good brother to see how life is.

Dennis has had two major loves in life (besides wife/child, etc), soccer and hockey. Soccer was really just something to do in non-hockey season I think. He's got jerseys by more teams than I can name, including home, away, and special event ones. He's even got one with "Zakroff" in Russian on the back. The Flyers would (and probably still) call him up to take out the new guys from Hershey around town. He's managed minor league teams, and still tends goal and does reffing. So really, calling him a huge hockey nut doesn't cut it.

Well, anyway, someone got this poster of the 1980 Olympic hockey team framed at work. I've been staring at it, trying to remember who I'm supposed to know (cause I was 2 at the time, right?) so I mention it to him on the phone. He tells me, I've already got one! Actually signed by everyone! framed! ebay! (good lord, he's found ebay, the world will now end. good nite!) And it doesn't end there...he's got several of them, and he went to go see "Miracle" on opening night, which confirms my suspicion that that was what that movie was about. --you see, we don't watch TV, and nobody has reviewed the movie it seems in the papers we normally read...so I had no idea.

He's so damn cute. :) Not the smartest cookie in the whole world (due to many years of soccer and puck-induced head trauma), but he's really a good good person. I look up to him for that, I really do. I didn't quite understand him as a kid, and was more enamored with Steve, who seemed to have it all together. The reality, mixed with time, tells a whole other story.
