It's beautiful. The only thing I might suggests is that you either highlight or tarnish the grey filigree in the upper right hand corner so that it pops out a little more. Either way, it needs a little more variety in level. You have all this beautiful blend of color throughout the peice, and in comparrison the grey decoration looks like its all one color and almost blends in. Of course, that may be what you were going for.

Weirdly, that was almost exactly what I was going to say, too. The filagree just looks a little off...

But it is BEAUTIFUL!

Yeah, it's definitely beautiful. :)

I've been thinking of better way to express what I was trying to say: The picture looks so texturized and layered as a whole, but the grey filegree looks almost like it's a sticker on top of it. It takes away from the 3D quality of the rest of the picture.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too. Anyway, I'm sure Tempest will either see what we mean, and figure out how to change it so she likes it, or she'll like it as is, and keep it.

I was thinking of this piece more in terms for CD cover art, so if that helps explain the corner doohickey, maybe --it's more of an intentional spacial disturbance to create depth, rather than having the entire thing blend into a gooey array of layers. Also, there was definitely a difference between the "art-based" graphic and what happens to a non-web-ready graphic, which changed some of the contrast---which I noticed after posting. It's far more blue in the actual art graphic, which plays off the red-orange :)

Gorgeous! I'll post those cameraphone pics from Sunday soon as I have the time (new job training at Borders has been eating it all).

Wow, that's extremely beautiful and evocative. I was looking at the art on your site and especially enjoyed the victorian series. As someone who has done a bit of collage, I really appreciate the way you overlay the images and I'm curious how you make them.

Interestingly enough, I also spent some time in the Providence area (1994-98), even took a few classes at RISD (I was at Brown). I love art, and I miss it terribly when I am not actively engaging in it. Now dance has taken up my free time, but I am always still trying to get the time to put paint to canvas.

Thanks again for the bay area dance info. I look forward to seeing you dance in the future!
