Ok, some good stuff to report:
My grandfather had a pacemaker put in today, and he should be home tomorrow...thanks to everyone for sending positive energy :) I nearly wanted to strangle my brother Denny, cause I knew the surgery was at 7 am EST...so I'm counting the hours, and no call, after he's called me consistently since Sunday...finally I get a hold of him---his cell ran down :P Anyway... I'm hoping that maybe, maybe in the future, my grandparents will come out to visit....for some reason, I'd really like to walk across the Golden Gate with my grandfather. He took me so many cool places as a little girl, and if we had lived out here, I'd bet that would have been on the top of his list. You don't walk over the bridges in Philly, but you can do it at the farthest gate to the Pacific...how cool is that?
My boss is finally back in the shop more (she's sorta off and on, cause of her health and family stuff), and she realized I had been there for around 90 days...after a quick evaluation, I got a raise :) That's cool. The last time I got a raise, it was something I was promised when I was first hired, and then a year into it, after assuming the other person's job (who had left), I got half the raise, and not by any fault of my own, except for working for a cheap SOB. Well, he wasn't a bad guy, just not great with business...
I got a performance slot at Cairo Carnivale! 1:30pm on June 13th on the Gypsy Camp stage:) 1-3-6-1-3 :) So I'm especially happy it's not only on my birthday, but also on Sunday, so I can really chill out by the time I perform, so there will NOT be a repeat of last year!! Still need to book a room for Fri/Sat and possibly Sunday, unless we crash at Ventura again...We'll have a camel, but will also have then an extra bed-space, if anyone solo is looking to share a room..
