So we more or less successfully escaped. It was lovely...the weather was gorgeous, the room had a hot tub, and we had lots of good food and time for just the two of us. Keith was actually up for us checking out the goth night at the Blue Lagoon (called "The Box"), so after dinner and a dip in the tub (I'm so tub-deprived in general, I love baths...and before any of you say "but there's a hot tub in your front yard practically", it's nice to take a bath in fresh, un-chlorinated water, inside!), Keith got snazzed up, and I donned fishnet, fakehair, and flauncy red and black taffetta skirt with the kick-arse boots, and we headed down the way, wondering what we would find...I had heard it was an "older' goth crowd, more of the old stuff music wise, and I expected a more laid-back crowd, and that's pretty much what it was...in comparison to what I've experience so far out here at say Stilletto (young, edgey, dress-to-impress, yet comfy) or La Luna Rouge (older, city-goth, also dress-to-impress, but has a more harder, dramatic edge to it). I miss Hell back in Providence, and I haven't found it here yet, so that's probably my holy grail. Well, getting back on track, I actually felt like a goth supermodel or something...not sure how to explain that...except for, I felt uber-goth at that moment in time. And considering I'm the one who is more used to people-watching, it was strange. There were folks who were dressed up for sure, but most of the crowd I'd file under "passing", which is fine, I'm not a snob....but I guess it is that in a non-performance setting, I'm not used to being the one being looked at. Which is probably a really strange thing coming from someone who sticks out like a sore thumb 98% of the time.

And I don't know if it was the alcohol, or the hot tub, but I didn't have any problems dancing for about 2-3 hours more or less straight in my super high boots. Perhaps I should borrow those high vinyl pumps from Paloma ;)

Was getting ready for bed, and I was in that place where I was sorta hungry, which meant if I got any more hungry, I'd be lying awake pondering getting up and eating something. So before hitting bed, I figured I'd hit up on some cookies and juice. And since I turned off the computer, I read Industrial Nation as I chowed down. But then I ate too many cookies and too much juice, and I now I can't go to bed just yet cause my tummy is too full. My "full-o-meter" is slightly off :P

Which reminds me of this uber strange dream I had last night involving sammiches, a dance troupe, and that hideously scary blonde woman. *shudder* Though oddly, it was an ego-booster sort of dream. No need to bore anyone discussing it.

It definitely seems like insomnia has hit most of us in the last few days/week. I'm usually screwed when the full moon collides with the 28 day cycle. Full moon causes me to be filled of ideas and energy-pushed, the cycle is brooding, more psychic-based...not to mention the cramps.

Odd thing today: work was extra batty...and at this one point I was dealing with a VERY picky client (and I'm probably the most patient person there..), and she asks me at one point, "wow, is that your real hair?" I blinked and felt my head. Yeap, it was. Maybe I had phantom dreads LOL. I had my two "rabbi" braids up front, a scarf around the main part, and the rest of it pulled back, and pinned at the crown/back...so it's not like I was overabounding in hair or anything. So I even get asked that question when I DON'T have fakehair in. How weird is that?

Thinking about my girls back east and their big performance. They're probably on their way homes, or safely in bed already, hopefully happily content and sleeping away. Wish we could have been there....*sigh* Damn 3000 smiles....err, miles.
