Ok, I'm behind on email and LJ reply's...so if you don't hear from me in reply to an email before this weekend, it'll happen afterwards...and if I don't reply to an LJ comment, likewise, or don't take it personally. PLEASE! thank you :)

I'm really pretty stressed here...luckily, my to-do list is getting shorter and shorter...unfortunately, most of the to-do list was other people's projects :P I have a lot of work to do on corset belts, since hopefully they're the bread and butter for the weekend...but I still want to make some more prints, cards, and magnets. Good thing I can sew in the car right? ROFL..

I'm not sure what I'm wearing or what I will dance too...I really have a hankering to wear purple...I have purple harem pants...purple skirts...purple eyeshadow and nailpolish...and I just may snag for myself the purple twists sarahlicious sent ;)...and there's the Purple PussyCat corset belt..or I do have fabric to make more from...but I need a top LOL. I have part of an idea, but that still doesn't cover my boobs. Actually, I could just use the bondage bra, just add purple laces...which tempts me to add purple tassels to the matching belt, but I'd really hate to undo that...in the future, there will be an fantastic and KINKY interchanging tassel system...but...not this week LOL.

And my parents are going to get me a REAL digital camera for my birthday....unfortunately, I know squat about cameras...if anyone has recommendations that are under $300-$400, I'd appreciate hearing from ya :) high image quality, good storage, easy battery change, and a viewing window that allows you to see the pix instantly are a must.

Ok, back to stressing :)

so I can I just say...

my honey kicks insane-nutso-dance-nazi butt? Well, he does. Check out another shining example of bigotry on middleeasterndance on yahoo, and Keith's eloquent response to it (look for the "heavy metal" subjects).

I don't understand how anyone could be so pigheaded, hypocritical, and close-minded all at once. Well, I suppose we see plenty of examples of it...but for the love of gawd, when you're standing in the face of plain truth, and can still spew a load of shit...well, that's impressive...and so incredibly disgusting.

No ones knows exactly where belly dancing came from--and if they claim to know the absolute truth, they're absolute liars, or someone who's been alive for dozens of centuries and traveled the world, and even then, you couldn't be everywhere at once. If you threw 20 darts at Asia, Africa, and beyond, you'd be halfway to something close to the truth. And you can't look to someone else to make your dancing authentic, especially just because of their nationality...the only way to be authentic is to be you, and dance the dance as it channels through you, in the best way it can.

And if you haven't seen Ansuya's interview on BD-TV, I highly recommend it :) The whole thing is pretty good!
